πŸ”— Share this answer, FAQ #7

CHEO was chosen because of its direct and meaningful impact on children and families in the Ottawa–Gatineau region.

At this time, tax receipts are not issued, as donations are collected at the event level.

Categories are designed intentionally and thoughtfully, with clear boundaries. Different roles and music genres are not mixed, and recognition is framed as appreciation, not ranking.

The process is structured and transparent, with defined criteria to avoid popularity only outcomes. The goal is to keep decisions explainable and respectful if questions arise.

Participation is completely optional. Categories are narrowly defined, recognition is appreciation based, not comparison based, and the overall goal is unity and charity, not debate.

Logos and photos are only used with permission and are presented respectfully and professionally, without implying endorsement unless explicitly agreed upon.

Names, titles, and images are reviewed carefully to ensure accurate and professional representation aligned with each person’s role in the community.

That is completely okay. This is a community initiative and participation is always optional. We respect every individual, instructor, and school, choosing not to participate does not imply disagreement or negativity.
