To all DJs, instructors, studios, organizers, and community leaders, thank you for the work you do every week to keep our dance scene alive 👋
We want to be very clear, Golden ORA is a recognition and appreciation night, it is not a competition. There are no rankings, no scoring, and no winners versus losers.
The purpose is simple, bring people together in a positive way, recognize contribution without comparison, and support a meaningful cause. For this event, 100% of net proceeds are donated directly to CHEO Children’s Hospital.
We also understand some people worry that public recognition can create tension between instructors or schools. We respect that concern, participation is always optional, and our goal is unity, appreciation, and charity, not debate.
If you would like, we would love to highlight your work in a respectful way, your logo or promo can be featured on the event page, displayed on the big screen during the night, and your name can be mentioned on stage as a thank you, without implying endorsement.
If you have questions, ideas, or feedback that helps keep this positive for everyone, please reach out anytime. Even if you choose not to participate, we still respect you and appreciate what you do for the community.

CHEO was chosen because of its direct and meaningful impact on children and families in the Ottawa–Gatineau region.
At this time, tax receipts are not issued, as donations are collected at the event level.
Categories are designed intentionally and thoughtfully, with clear boundaries. Different roles and music genres are not mixed, and recognition is framed as appreciation, not ranking.
The process is structured and transparent, with defined criteria to avoid popularity only outcomes. The goal is to keep decisions explainable and respectful if questions arise.
Participation is completely optional. Categories are narrowly defined, recognition is appreciation based, not comparison based, and the overall goal is unity and charity, not debate.
Logos and photos are only used with permission and are presented respectfully and professionally, without implying endorsement unless explicitly agreed upon.
Names, titles, and images are reviewed carefully to ensure accurate and professional representation aligned with each person’s role in the community.
That is completely okay. This is a community initiative and participation is always optional. We respect every individual, instructor, and school, choosing not to participate does not imply disagreement or negativity.
